Seattle Shakespeare Company: Two Gentlemen of Verona (2024)
Dacha Theatre: The Pomegranate Tree (2024)
"Riley Gene delivered a powerful sense of structure throughout the night. As we embarked on our side quests, it was comforting coming back to such a memorable and well-known storyline. With countless retellings of their love story, it was exhilarating to witness one that felt truly fresh and understood by the actors."
- Broadway World
The Shattered Glass Project: Carmilla (2024)
"Riley Gene had the monumental task of portraying Miss Flora Ackroyd, Geoffrey Raymond, and Charles Kent. For all three, the characters were distinct in tone, mannerism, and expression. Miss Flora was floating with grace and demure coquettishness. The stuttering insecurities of Raymond extended into their every movement and gesture. And the devil-may-care attitude of Kent was layered with insouciance and a touch of swagger. Gene's disappearance into each character made at least one audience member wonder why the actor for Charles Kent hadn't taken a bow, not realizing that the part was also played by Gene."
- Broadway World
"Riley Gene, playing Mr. Ackroyd’s daughter Flora, Geoffrey Raymond and Charles Kent, shows the greatest range in crossing gender and status. They achieve the portrayals with moments of deep honesty. These notes of vulnerability and passion are beautiful colors in the production’s tapestry."
- The Suburban Times
